What is Yoga?

Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root word “yuj”, which means to unite or connect. The simplest translation for Yoga is “Union”.

It is a practice that aims to work the body and mind in an interconnected way, with exercises that help control stress, anxiety and pain in the body, in addition to improving balance and promoting a sense of well-being.

Adopting a correct body posture and improving breathing capacity are some of the benefits of yoga practice.

Consequently, on a physical level, it exercises the whole body, toning the muscles, improving the digestive and circulatory system.

The benefits of Yoga are not seen in the first weeks of practice, it takes at least 3 months, because as the person practices they can have more body awareness and better control their mind, so they can influence the body in a balanced way. .
