Still with some muscle complaints, we entered the second week of the Personal Wellness challenge. Thus, we increased the number of workouts in one day (carried out on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), maintaining their volume and intensity. With regard to training, we maintained the logic of recovery to be carried out with cardiovascular exercises, namely on the mat and on the paddle.
The main objective is to keep the intensity constant, around 70-80% of the maximum Heart Rate, so that the EPOC (Excess Post Exercice Oxygen Consumption) effect is felt, thus increasing the post-workout metabolism. For the week I will talk a little bit about EPOC.
Adipocyte lipolysis
André Neto and Pedro Santos had, again, a session of Acupuncture with Dr. Rui Pedro Loureiro, whose main focus was the method of adipocyte electrolipolysis, commonly known as adipocyte lipolysis, commonly known as lipolysis aimed at localized fat and / or cellulite, being one of the most sought-after methods in aesthetic acupuncture. In general, it was found that they are already adapted to the new nutritional routine, and, with the results showing, they already feel more motivated to continue the “walk”.
Physiotherapy
The physiotherapist Catarina Gomes took charge of carrying out the assessments of Physiotherapy, focusing on the postural issue, restrictions on movement and changes in mobility that each of the athletes may have, in order to adjust and specify more and more the training to the needs of each one. After the initial assessment, and after understanding the most obvious changes, we will work to minimize them using manual therapies, stretching, inhibiting and activating the important muscle groups and chains to optimize posture and facilitate physical training. Based on the results, the role of the physiotherapist in a multidisciplinary team will be to support decisions for the times, loads and training objectives in each work cycle of physical exercise.
Training
As the program goes on, we will also be increasingly aware of the changes that result from weight loss and we will adjust our treatment accordingly to optimize health rates.
The training of the week Monday can be carried out by all who accompany us weekly. After an 8-minute run / walk that will serve as a warm-up, I suggest performing four sets of the following exercises (in the first set, example 1 is to skip ahead).
Exercise 1 : 4 minutes - Running / walking
Exercise 2 : 20 repetitions - Squats with raised arms (1Kg in each hand)
Exercise 3: 30 seconds - Abdominal plank, with knee forward alternately.
Exercise 4 : 15 Lunge repetitions with knee elevation (each leg)
Exercise 5 : 15 repetitions - “In and out (on a board, bring your knees close to your chest and then stretch your legs).
